Do I affiliate with any group or individual whose teachings or practices are contrary to or oppose those accepted by The Church? Why don't you ask my PO Box.

A Weekend In Utah
We spent the last weekend in Utah for a funeral for Allison Morris. Sam was in Allison's freshman ward at BYU, along with her husband, Jason (who I know from Reno). Allison was disgnosed with acute leukemia in November and passed away last Sunday. It was such a sad funeral, as Jason and Allison's little girl just turned one year old last week. Going to the funeral really made me realize how important each day is and how we should show our love and concern for all around us because we never know when it is their time to return to our Heavenly Father. I really believe that this life is a time to prepare to meet God and I am grateful to know about the plan of salvation & how it enables us to return to our Father in Heaven and reunite with family members again.
Despite being in Utah for a funeral, we were able to still have an enjoyable time there. We spent Saturday night with Sam's friends from his freshman BYU ward. All of Sam's friends have kids except for us! Weird. It was fun to see everyone and catch up on their lives.
We also had time to spend with Phil and Joan-they drove up to Provo for the weekend to be with us, which was really fun. We got together with the Barber family and had breakfast together up in the Canyons.
We also went and saw Uncle David & Kandi's house for the first time. It's pretty spectacular. Their basement is specifically for games-there is a ping pong table, foosball, air hockey, and every other game imaginable there. Word on the street is the Phil is really good at Ping Pong so Sam and I tried our best to beat him. I think Sam beat him once but Phil really is a Ping Pong Master. Here are some action shots....
We were also able to spend some time with Sam's Grandma Barber. She is so sweet and we love spending time with her. We also were able to meet up at Dorthy & Warren's house to finally see Emilee & Dylan's baby girl, Lilee. She is so beautiful and such a happy baby! Don't get any ideas from these pictures of us holding kids....

Fourth Of July Fun
We had a great 4th of July weekend. We attended the Oakland A's Baseball game on the 3rd and watched the great firework show! We were able to get down and sit on the field and watch the fireworks. It was a fun time!
We celebrated the 4th of July by going to the Piedmont parade. We had a lot of fun and sat with some of our friends from the ward.
We watched the parade and saw some friends who participated. Nancy Dunlap, Anthony Dunlap and John Amos were all a part of the parade!
We brought Brody along for the parade and he had a great time. He met a few dogs and was very well mannered while little kids pet him and played with him.
That night we went to the Berkeley Marina to watch the fireworks with our friends. It was a good show, but not as good as the A's game. We had a really relaxing weekend away from work and had a fun time celebrating the 4th!
