Fiona Apple . . . is CRAZY!

Last night we got some free tickets to see Fiona Apple. The opening band, Damien Rice was pretty cool. Reminded me of Ryan Adams slash David Grey. Then Fiona Apple came on stage. I thought she was seriously having a nervous breakdown the entire time. She was shaking, crying, screaming off the mic like someone with turrets, singing or yelling to weird synth music in the backround that reminded me of Disneyland. Because we did not have a camera at the show, I tried to find some images on Google that portrayed her well. This is what I found.

This is a nice shot portraying Fiona in concert.

I thought this one was very acurate and artistic.

I definiteley could see Fiona in this outfit. Fits her personality.

But of all the pictures I found, this one seems to portray her with perfection.

Jeff Hayes is a woman

It's finally time that Jeff lets everyone (including his lovely wife, Harriet and his darling son, Levi) know that he is truly a woman. Not only is he a woman, but a pretty good looking one, too. Take a look at Jeff and his work team and you will be able to see what Jeff really does at PDI.

Reno Weekend Continued...

Although our trip to Reno was quick, we were able to do so much and see so many of our friends! We hung out with our crazy friend, Belinda while we ran errands on Saturday.....We had a fun time pupming gas

We hung out with Jen, Cody and Amber at Chili's, saw my friend Suzanne Trotter who just had a baby

We also spent some time with our friends Taneil and Jamin Hunter who just bought their second house out in Galena. We had fun with them at their adorable new home. They have a Boston Terrier named Chloe that looks a lot like Brody! They are great friends.

And we also spent some time with my family...

Giddyup!!

We had a great trip seeing everyone and spending time with our friends and family!

Our Reno Weekend!

We went to Reno Over the weekend for my friend Kristen Hodes' wedding reception. We had a great time at the wedding reception and Kristen looked gorgeous. It was 102 degrees outside but a nice day nonetheless. It was great to be able to see my girlfriends Dawn, Martha, Kristen and Leah. Leah is seven months pregnant and all the other girls are doing well. It is so neat to see all of my good friends marry great guys. It was a fun time!

Bocci Night Out

On Monday night we went with our friends Brandon and Scott (they rent from us and are really great guys) down to the park to play some bocci ball. It's the Italian game that you see old Italian men playing that kind of looks like bowling without any pins. We had a great time. Here is Sam explaining the game to everyone...

Here are Brandon and Scott before the game discussing their game plan...

And here is Brody. He's really mad because he couldn't play.
It was a gorgeous night-look at the sky in the pictures and you can see how beautiful it's been here!We had a great time even though Sam and I got creamed by Brandon and Scott. We definitley need to have a rematch!

We're going to the Philippines!!!!! Camusta!

So I am basically addicted to adding things onto this blog even though I don't think anyone reads it yet. So I'm thinking of all the cool things that are going on in our lives. The most exciting thing that is going on right now is that we are taking a two week trip to visit Sam's mission in the Philippines in September. We are soooo excited to go and I think it will be really cool to see where he served. Sam is trying to teach me the language-it's Tagalog and basically sounds like jibberish. So far I know how to say the following:
1. I can't drink the water because I will get diarrhia
2. Where are you going?
3. My name is Marielle
4. How much is this/that?
5. I like this food because it's delicious

So basically I know everything I will need to use while I'm there. I think that #1 is going to be the most important thing to know- we don't want to ruin our trip with the runs. Just being honest. We still have to get some shots before we go- Marielle has to get ELEVEN shots and Sam only has to get a few. Not looking forward to that. So far I know that it's a 23 hour long flight and that hotel rooms aren't priced according to how big they are, they are priced according to if there is a ceiling fan or air conditioning. I am really excited to go and we'll keep whoever is reading this updated as we plan our trip!

THE MIGHTY BRODY

This page is dedicated to our awesome dog, Brody. He is a Boston Terrier who weighs 11 pounds but acts like he is a much bigger and tougher dog than he really is. We bought him from a breeder in Bishop CA last year when he was 9 weeks old. He is like our little kid and we love him so much. He snores at night, has horrible gas, snorts with his head facing down and does a lot of other weird things but he is the cutest dog ever! Marielle taught him how to shake hands and now he does it all the time! He's a year and a half now and we love having him as our pet!

New BMW 325xi

The all-wheel drive in this beast sold us. Very low miles, very sexy, and very fast.

Oakland Temple

We are so lucky to live so close to the Oakland temple where we were married. It is five minutes from our house and our church meeting house is right on the temple grounds. Marielle went and took these pictures of the temple last week. I am always amazed at the beauty of the temple and I feel humbled and grateful for the gospel every time I am in or near our temple.

Santa Cruz Fun

Over the weekend we had our friend Casey in town. We drove down to Santa Cruz with her and our other friends Keith & Ann Hiatt. We had a ton of fun playing on the Santa Cruz boardwalk playing games and going on the awesome rides. Sam's favorite was the ghostbuster game- he was really into it and it was really fun. We also enjoyed our first deep fried Twinkie which Marielle decided tasted just like corn dogs. It was so much fun to be with our friends on such a beautiful day!
